Oklahoma Old Order Amish Mennonites

Oklahoma Old Order Amish Mennonites numbered approximately 160 in 1957. They were located in two areas, the older western settlement in Custer County, and the newer northeastern settlement in Mayes County, with 108 and 52 baptized members respectively. Weatherford and Thomas were the addresses of the two congregations in Custer County, while the Amish of the northeastern Oklahoma had the addresses of Choteau and Mazie. The community was south of Pryor. There were two other Old Order Amish settlements, now extinct, in the state, one in the southern part and another in the northeastern part of Oklahoma.
