Nicasen (van) Aelmeers (Nicasius Aelmare) was an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr burned at the stake at [[Bruges (West-Vlaanderen, Belgium)|Bruges]] on 10 December 1561. He was the brother of [[Martjintgen Aelmeers (d. 1562)|Martijntgen van Alcmaers]]. He was named twice by [[Braght, Tieleman Jansz van (1625-1664)|van Braght]] <em>([[Martyrs' Mirror|Martyrs' Mirror]] </em>D 297, E 663, where the date of execution is given as 1562; and D 288, E 655, where the correct date is given, but his name is given as Nikasen Amare). Verheyden lists him as Nicasius Aelmaere, born at Steenwercke in Flanders. On 10 November 1561 a meeting of the Bruges congregation held just outside the city was surprised by the police and a number of the members were seized, bound two by two, and taken to prison.
