Newell Hutterite Colony near Bassano, Alberta, was founded in 1962 as a division from the O. K. Hutterite Colony.

Daughter colonies of the Newell Hutterite Colony include: Clearview Hutterite Colony (Hussar, Alberta, Canada); and Green Acres Hutterite Colony (Bassano, Alberta, Canada).

In 2017 the Newell Hutterite Colony was a Lehrerleut colony.
