New Hope Church Niagara began in December 2002 as a church plant in a barn near Jordan, Ontario, Canada. Thom Braun, who had earlier been an associate pastor at the Grantham Mennonite Brethren Church, was the founding pastor.

Ub 2003 the new group began to meet in the Jordan Public School and other rented facilities until completion of a new building in St. Catharines that was dedicated in February 2014. During its time in Jordan, it was known as New Hope Church Jordan.

The congregation was accepted as a member of the Ontario Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in February 2005.

In 2017 its website said New Hope's purpose was "To be a safe place for people to know Jesus, love Jesus, serve Jesus."
