Mubaybulu Ekaka (1930-1978)

Mubaybule Ekaka was born at Mikungu in Bandundu, Belgian Congo (Democratic Republic of Congo). He was married to Mossese Berenise; they had no children. Mubaybulu was baptized at the Baptist Tshene Mission (1938) and attended the primary school at Tshene (1938-1948). He taught school from 1948 to 1953 and then attended the Mennonite Brethren Bible Institute at Kafumba (1953). From 1961 to 1963 he studied at the Mennonite Brethren Theology School at Kajiji. In 1964 he became an evangelist working in Kikwit. He then served as the Kituba radio pastor for the Mennonite Brethren radio broadcasts (1965-1970). When the radio work closed, he became the supervising pastor responsible for the Mennonite Brethren churches in Kinshasa where he served until his death on 23 July 1978.
