The Morson Community Bible Fellowship began services in 1955, and formally organized in 1960. In the early years summer Bible schools were held in the area by Irvin Schantz of Northern Light Gospel Missions. Irvin and Helen Grabill of International Falls, Minnesota then visited every three weeks to show Christian films. Big Grassy First Nation asked the Grabills to build a church, and offered land for the purpose. The first building was completed in 1961. Willard and Alta Marner from Iowa came and pastored the young congregation. In 1978 the congregation moved to its present location; in 1987 a addition was built to add an upstairs to the auditorium and dining space downstairs.

The congregation was originally affiliated with the North Central Mennonite Conference and the United Native Ministries Council.

In 2008 Morson Community Bible Fellowship withdrew from the North Central Conference and Mennonite Church USA, and became part of the Harvest Fellowship of Churches and the Anabaptist Native Fellowship of Churches. The congregation has had an ongoing relationship with Northern Youth Programs.

The group was originally known as Big Grassy Indian Mission. English has been used almost exclusively in services since 1978.
