Montreal Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Montréal, Quebec, Canada)
The Montreal Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation in Montreal, Quebec, Canada had its roots in investigations of evangelistic possibilities by members of the Maple View congregation in St. Marys, Ontario. In February 1988 Missions Canada began its own investigations and rented a house for mission work later that year. Stuart and Vivian Friesen were the first longterm missionaries.
After the first missionary couples finished their terms, they purchased farms north of Montreal and continued to fellowship with the church.
In June 1995 a two-story building on Jarry Street East was purchased to serve as a church and residence for a missionary pastor.
In 1997 the majority of members lived in the Roxton Falls area, and those folks were encouraged to organize as a separate congregation.
In 2020 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The nonresident minister was Keith Wedel, though missionaries were also placed in the city.
