Mennonite Service Agency (Bihar, India)

Mennonite Service Agency, Bihar is a registered service agency with headquarters at P. O. Chandwa, Dist. Palamau, Bihar, India. It was established in 1967 as a result of the famine of 1966-67 in the whole of Palamau district in South Bihar. It serves the relief and development needs of the area. It is funded by the Mennonite Central Committee and the Church's Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) a relief and development wing of the National Council of Churches in India. The director in 1987 was M. Bhengra who began to served in this position in 1977. Among the immediate beneficiaries of the work of MSA were the members of the Bihar Mennonite Kalisiya who were mostly rural marginal farmers.
