Mennonite Mutual Fire Aid Plan, Hagerstown, Maryland was established in 1912 and provides fire and lightning insurance for approximately 475 members of the Washington County, Maryland and Franklin County, Pennsylvania, Conference (Mennonite Church). The assessed valuation of property covered in 1953 was approximately $6,773,000 and the amount paid out that year was $5,421.66. Assessments averaged 75 cents annually on $1,000 of property covered.
