Barbara Meiszrod was an Anabaptist martyr, who was baptized by Heinz Kraut. She made her house a center for the meetings of the Anabaptists in Mühlhausen in Thuringia. A meeting of this kind was surprised in October 1537, the participants arrested, tried on the rack on 11 October, and ten of them drowned, including Barbara, in the Unstrut between Mühlhausen and Ammern.
