Lydia (Leichty) Lehman, born 28 September 1884, died 16 December 1969, was active in the Mennonite Church (MC) as a missionary, editor, and Mennonite Central Committee worker. She married M. C. Lehman in August 1905. They were parents of two daughters and one son.
A missionary in India from 1906-1930, Lydia wrote Gospel Herald articles to inform people of Indian widows, victims of leprosy (Hansen's disease), and Bible women (lay evangelists); to express the pain of boarding school parent-child separation; to request prayer and workers.
Writer of the Booklet of Prayer and a Handbook of Information for Missions and Institutions (MC), Lydia also edited the Missionary Sewing Circle Letter, 1932-1946. As literature secretary of the General Sewing Circle Committee, she wished women to be informed about church work and world conditions and to do systematic Bible study.
With Christian motivation to assist the needy, Lydia both packed clothing at U.S. Mennonite relief centers and distributed it to suffering Europeans during World War II.
