Claes van Leeuwe (Leeuwen) was a rector of the Latin school at [[Zutphen (Gelderland, Netherlands)|Zutphen]], Dutch province of [[Gelderland (Netherlands)|Gelderland]], where he died in 1549. When it became known that he had been a Mennonite, having been baptized upon his faith, his corpse was exhumed and buried in unconsecrated earth.
