Lauwereys van Rentergem (d. 1569)

Lauwereys (Laurens) van Rentergem was an Anabaptist martyr who was executed at Ghent, Belgium in 1569 with four other Anabaptists. The exact date and method of execution are not mentioned in the martyr books; Verheyden (Gent, 56) did not find this martyr in the official records. This martyr is named in the hymn "Als men schreef duyst vijfhonclert jaer, ende twee en tsestich mede," in the Lietboecxken van den Offer des Heeren.
