Langley International Church began services in September 1997 in the South Langley Mennonite Brethren Church. Roberto and Maria Labastida were bi-vocational church planters with a vision to plant an English-speaking, culturally diverse church. They had a core group of five-to-eight families. The church joined the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in 1998 but closed in March 1999.
