Jan Hendriksz of [[utrecht-netherlands|Utrecht]], a Dutch [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, who had been baptized by [[Leenaert Bouwens (1515-1582)|Leenaert Bouwens]], was at the age of 28 sentenced to die at the stake on 28 March 1558, at [[rotterdam-zuid-holland|Rotterdam]], with Peter van Eynoven, [[Evert Nouts (16th century)|Evert Nouts]], and two women, Annetgen Antheunisdochter and Stijntgen Jansdochter. A song commemorating this execution, beginning "In den jare vijfthienhondert, En achtenvijftig claer," is found in <em>Veelderhande Liedekens</em> of 1569. The Rotterdam court records show that three days after this event Guert Willemszoon, who had taken part in the liberation of the above victims of persecution, was sentenced to death.
