Jan Diericxsone (alias de Camtnere), born at Kortrijk (Courtrai) in Flanders, a cordmaker, was arrested at Brugge, Belgium, and beheaded there in 1568, exact date unknown, because of Anabaptism. The fact that he was not burned at the stake seems to indicate that he had recanted.
