Jacobszoon, Jacob Pieter (1925-1983)

Jacob Pieter Jacobszoon was pastor of the Mennonite congregations in Oldeboorn (1951), IJmuiden (1956), and Haarlem (1959). From 1966 to 1967 he was visiting lecturer at Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, VA. From 1981 until his death he was professor at the Amsterdam Mennonite Theological Seminary, being particularly responsible for the studies of students admitted to the "Second Way" established in 1979 (Algemene Doopsgezinde Sociëteit). He was particularly well informed in the area of Pietism, having written his thesis on the Amsterdam pastor Joannes Deknatel, a friend of Count Nicholas von Zinzendorf.
