The "J Y. Shantz preaching appointment was located in Berlin, Ontario, less than one mile east of First Mennonite Church if located at the home of Jacob Y. Shantz. It more likely was held in the home of one of his brothers, John Y., Joseph Y. or Joshua Y. The preaching appointment was affiliated with the Mennonite Conference of Ontario. The language of worship was German.
The appointment is listed only in the 1854 Calendar of appointments of the conference.
