Honnoré, Jan (17th/18th centuries)

Jan Honnoré, a Dutch Mennonite of Amsterdam, was a son of Abraham Honnoré and, like his father, a deacon of the Amsterdam Lamist congregation. Abraham Honnore (died 1680) served 1676-1680 and Jan 1695-1700, 1707-1713, and 1719-1725. Jan Honnoré was a member of the Dutch Committee of Foreign Needs, in which he took an important place as treasurer; the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Library (Bibliotheek en Archief van de Vereenigde Doopsgezinde Gemeente te Amsterdam)|Amsterdam Mennonite archives]] contain a number of documents bearing witness to his activities on behalf of the suppressed brethren in the Palatinate, Switzerland, Prussia, and Lithuania.
