Haga family

Haga is a Dutch Mennonite family of Sneek, Friesland. Bauke J. Haga (1789-1874), married to Hillegonda Veen, was a deacon of the Mennonite congregation of Sneek. His son Hendrikus Haga (b. 1814 at Sneek, d. 1889 at Arnhem) was a Mennonite minister, serving at Oldeboorn 1837-1855 and at Arnhem 1855-1887. Bauke Haga (the son of Hendrikus, b. 1849 at Oldeboorn, d. 1937 at Nijmegen) was a Mennonite minister at Warga 1874-1881, Witmarsum and Pingjum 1881-1882, Tjalleberd 1882-1888, Almelo 1888-1891, and Nijmegen 1891-1917. Antonie Haga (1834-1902), a brother of Hendrikus, rose to the high military position of commander of the Dutch army in the East Indies (1887-1889).
