Glasius, Barend (1805-1886)

Barend Glasius, Dutch Reformed pastor at Slijk-Ewijk 1828-1836 and Geertruidenberg 1836-1879, author of an important biographical dictionary of Dutch theologians, the Godgeleerd Nederland (3 vols., Hertogenbosch, 1851-1856), which includes articles on a number of  Mennonites. Of his numerous historical writings mention should be made of Galerij van Nederlandsche Geloofshelden . . . (Tiel, 1853-54), a 120-page book written in collaboration with H. M. C. van Oosterzee, in which the (unfinished) 9th chapter deals with the Mennonites.
