Abraham van Gherwen was the compiler of a Dutch Mennonite songbook entitled Tot des Heeren Lof heb ick U (Ghod-vresende Zanger) dit Liedboecxken ghejont, ghenaemt: De Ghulde Fonteyne waer duer ick wensche dat veel fonteyntjes (dat zijn ghelovige harten) mede ghewonnen mochten worden . . . (Ghoude, i.e., Gouda, 1618). This songbook, containing 144 songs on 288 pages, was not intended for use in the public services but for private and family use. Of the compiler van Gherwen nothing further is known.
