Ghele Hame, a native of Friesland, was beheaded at Kampen, Dutch province of Overijssel, on 15 February 1535, after having renounced his faith. His confession before his judges is very informative. He had received (re) baptism in 1534, two weeks before Christmas. He did not believe in the Catholic doctrine of the Mass, did not accept fasting as a Christian doctrine, and believed, as Melchior Hoffman and also Menno Simons taught, that Jesus did not receive His flesh from Mary (see Christology).
