Gerobulus, Johannes (1540-1606)

Johannes Gerobulus, (Dutch, Outraadi), b. 1540 at The Hague, d. there 1606, was a Dutch Reformed minister  at Delft,  Vlissingen, Deventer,  Harderwijk, and The Hague. In the fall of 1579 he held a dispute with representatives of a Mennonite congregation called the "footwashers," at Wester-Souburg near Vlissingen in the Dutch province of Zeeland. His principal opponent in the dispute was Hans de Ries, who was at this time staying in Zeeland.
