Gerbeviller, a town eight miles (13 km) south of [[Lunéville (Lorraine, France)|Lunéville]], France, where a Mennonite congregation was formed in 1908. It was, however, short-lived. Until 1914 the elders Pierre Sommer and Joseph Schmouker served it. After the outbreak of [[World War (1914-1918)|World War I]] religious services were omitted, for the region lay in the battle area. The town was completely destroyed, and most of the Mennonites moved away.
