Génard, Petrus (1830-1899)

Petrus Genard (b. 1830 at Antwerp, d. there 1899), archivist and librarian of the city of Antwerp, Belgium, published in the Antwerpsch Archievenblad, volumes VII-XIV (Antwerp, 1864 ff.), all the extant documents concerning persons who were judicially persecuted in the 16th century because of religion. The documents, which contain detailed and valuable information, are found in Vols. VII-XIII (Antwerp, 1864 ff.). Vol. XIV, pp. 1-127, has a chronological list of over 1300 "heretics."
