Friedrichsen, Karl (1879-1941?)
Karl Friedrichsen was born in the Crimea on 6 January 1879. He graduated from a Zentralschule and the Bible school of St. Chrischona near Basel, Switzerland, was principal of the Karassan Zentralschule, Crimea, and member of the Busau Mennonite Church, where he also served as a minister after 1905. He was ordained 31 May 1911. In 1913-1922 he was instructor of religion at the Davlekanovo Zentralschule at Ufa. After his resignation he founded the Davlekanovo Bible School, which, however, had to be closed soon because of religious persecution. The last years of his life he spent at Zaporozhe, Ukraine, with his daughter. Occasionally he served the Mennonites of Einlage as minister (1935-1936). When his daughter Marianne was exiled in 1941, he had already passed away after a long illness.
