Francois van Ludick (that is, Liege in Belgium), also called Francois Bepen, an Anabaptist martyr, a former halberdier who was converted and baptized at Maastricht, Dutch province of Limburg, by Henric Rol. When arrested, he recanted, and was therefore executed by beheading instead of being burned at the stake. The execution took place at Maastricht on 13 February 1535. His confession gives interesting information concerning the Maastricht congregation in this time.
