Peter Fröse (d. 1853), elder of the Mennonite congregation of Orlofferfelde, West Prussia, Germany, author of the booklet, Liebreiche Erinnerung an die mennonitischen Glaubensgenossen in Hinsicht des Artikels von der Wehrlosigkeit. In Einfalt, aber aus Liebe und guter Absicht mitgeteilt (Tiegerweide near Tiegenhof, West Prussia, 1850).

In addition to a detailed Biblical foundation for nonresistance it presents from Gottfried Arnold's Wahre Abbildung der ersten Christen testimonies of the Church Fathers Tertullian, Irenaeus, Hilary, Origen, and Chrysostomus, as also the ideas of the Waldenses and Menno Simons' views on nonresistance from Herman Schijn's history of the Mennonites.
