Fort St. John Community Fellowship started on 20 October 2002. The pastor was Jon Corbett, formerly of Flat Rock Mennonite Church. The congregation was intended to be an alternate church for those who were un-churched and those who had become disconnected from the church. One of the first programs initiated by the church was running an Alpha program. The church followed the cell church model, and  met on Saturday evenings.

In November 2003 the Mennonite Church British Columbia Evangelism and Church Development Committee chose to close the church.
