Eppenhof family

Eppenhof, a former Mennonite family, now extinct. Members of this family came from Burgsteinfurt in Westphalia, Germany, to Enschede, Dutch province of Overijssel, and especially to Winterswijk, Dutch province of Gelderland, where this family was found in the 17th century. Harmen Eppenhof, born about 1620, died 1693, and married to Henrica Willink (1614-81), was the last unsalaried and untrained minister of the Winterswijk congregation. In the 17th and 18th centuries members of this family are also found in Amsterdam, where some of them were deacons of the Lamist congregation. Laurens Hendriksz Eppenhof, formerly also a deacon and a Collegiant, wrote two booklets against Galenus Abrahamsz: Nieuwe Jaarsgeschenck, of Twalef Bedencklijcke Vragen (Amsterdam, 1682) and Ses-en-dertigh Grontstellingen aangaande de Reformatie der Protestanten (n.p., 1697).
