Einlage was founded between 1632 and 1640 by Mennonite settlers. In addition to farming, the village also served as a ferry crossing across the Nogat. Until 1772 Einlage was part of the Kingdom of [[Poland|Poland]]. The Prussian census of 1776 lists 21 Mennonite families in Einlage with the following surnames: Andres, Bachmann, Dick, Driedger, Friesen, Gerbrand, Harder, Hilbrand, Jantzen, Kroecker, Loewen, Martens, Penner, Rogaliki, Wiebe, and Wilcke. In 1820, the village had 273 residents, including 77 Mennonites.
The Flemish Mennonites of Einlage were members of the Rosenort Mennonite Church.
