Dubnitz an der Waag (Slovak: Dubnica; Hungarian: Máriatölgyes) is a market town near Trentchin in Hungary (now Slovakia). It was the center of the former Trentchin government, where Hutterian Brethren, expelled from Stigonitz in Moravia in 1622, found refuge. The feudal lord, Count Kaspar Illeshazi, permitted them to establish a Bruderhof a half hour below Trentchin on the Soblahof, which they, however, had to abandon in 1688 on account of continued plundering.
