Darney (Épinal, Vosges, France)

Darney, the name given for a time (1933-1941) in the Gemeinde-Kalender to the French Mennonite congregation living widely scattered in the region of which Épinal is the approximate center. Before 1933, and in the reissued Gemeinde-Kalender, the. name is given as the Vosges congregation. The history of this congregation is given in Christ Seul for August 1930, pp. 5-8. By the 1950s the congregation had become very small, 25-50 souls, and was meeting only once per month in the homes of the members.
