Community Mennonite Church

Community Mennonite Fellowship, first known as Moorefield Mennonite Church, began services in 1948, and formally organized in 1949. The first building, a former Anglican church, was purchased privately in 1947 by Amos Brubacher for the purpose of mission outreach. There was a subsequent building program on the Drayton site in 1996/97.

In 1989 the congregation merged with Berea Mennonite Church (they had shared a pastor for a number of years), and met in the Moorefield church building until 1997.

In 1997 Community Mennonite became a significant host for programs directed towards Low German Mennonites arriving from Mexico and elsewhere. By 2010 the congregation provided space and planning support for several Wellington County organizations providing support for these recent immigrants.
