Community Mennonite Church (South Bend, Indiana, USA)

The Community Mennonite Church in South Bend, Indiana, grew from contacts in 1957 between local residents of South Bend and Goshen College students who were members of the Young People's Christian Association (YPCA). In 1958, the YPCA coordinated a Sunday school in a local home. After two persons requested baptism in 1960, the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church became involved. Yellow Creek purchased a church building on the corner of Pennsylvania and Rush Streets, where regular services began in early 1962. Dan Stoltzfus became the initial pastor in October 1962.

From 1966 to 1971, the Mennonite Board of Missions sponsored a Voluntary Service (VS) unit in connection with the congregation. After the VS unit ended, Yellow Creek lessened its support. The local community went through troubled times in the 1970s and 19870s, and the Community Mennonite Church suffered a decline.

The church closed in 1990; in 1991, the Revelation Church of God in Christ purchased the building.
