The Missoula (Montana) CPS Camp No. 103 was a Forest Service camp under the administration of the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) but with the men chosen from other agencies in addition to those from the MCC. The men were trained as "smoke jumpers," learning how to parachute to the sites of forest fires. Over 200 men were members of the camp between its opening and closing dates May 1943—January 1946. A 48-page book entitled Smoke Jumpers, produced by the men of the camp, gave pictures of the unit's work as well as a description of its activities.
