The Christian Fellowship Center in Sturgis, Michigan, began in 1986 as an outreach of the South Colon Mennonite Church and the Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church (MC). Glenn Middleton was the founding pastor. The Christian Fellowship Center began meeting in rented commercial space.

The congregation developed with a charismatic worship style.

In 2002, the Christian Fellowship Center withdrew from the conference and the denomination and continued as an independent community congregation.
