The Christian County, Kentucky, Groffdale Old Order Mennonite settlement was originally confined to Christian County when it started in 1991. The co-founders were John M. Burkholder and Amzie L. Zimmerman. By 1996 the settlement had expanded into Todd County. As of 1 January 2011 this settlement had two meetinghouses and approximately 115 households.
Meadow Valley Old Order Mennonite Meetinghouse
The Meadow Valley meetinghouse was built in 1993 on Vanghns Grove-Fairview Road in Christian County. This meetinghouse was enlarged to the size of 54 feet by 94 feet in 2010. As of 1 January 2011 the following ministry team served the congregation--the presiding bishop was Amon N. Hoover (ordained minister, 1995; bishop, 2006). The minister was Benjamin S. Zimmerman (ordained 1997), and the deacon was Aaron S. Zimmerman (ordained 2003).
Stringtown Old Order Mennonite Meetinghouse
The Stringtown meetinghouse is located in Todd County. It was erected in 2010 along Stringtown Road. Its measurements were 60 feet by 70 feet. As of 1 January 2011 the following ministry team served the congregation--the presiding bishop was Amon N. Hoover, the ministers were Aaron N. Leinbach (ordained 2004) and Eddie B. Ramer (ordained 2006), and the deacon was Stephen N. Leinbach (ordained 2007).
