Central Mennonite Church (Dover, Delaware, USA)
Central Mennonite Church was founded in 1954 in Dover, Delaware and initially was part of the Conservative Mennonite Conference. It was established by Dover-area Amish Mennonites who had been travelling to the Greenwood Mennonite Church for services.
In the late 1990s Central was part of a faction of congregations unhappy with the less rigorous discipline practiced by the conference in issues like the prayer veiling and divorce and remarriage. Central was one of a number of congregations that joined the new Biblical Mennonite Alliance; it joined in August 2002.
In 2019 the leading minister was William M. Byler, Jr., and he was assisted by Martin D. Miller, Justin Yoder and Jeremy Sapp. The congregational membership was 114 and the average weekly attendance was 143.
