The Calhoun County (Michigan) Old Order Amish settlement was a small group located in the southeastern part of the county near Homer. The original settlers, the Amos J. Christner family, came from Lagrange Co., Indiana; others came later from Daviess Co., Indiana, and St. Joseph County, Michigan. Preacher Alvin J. Yoder moved to the community in late 1941.
