Marlin Milton Brubaker: deacon in the Duchess Mennonite Church at Duchess, Alberta, was born near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 30 September 1904, and died 21 December 1993 at Brooks, Alberta. He was married to Anna M. Burkholder on 31 October 1928. They had two sons and two daughters.

Marlin Brubaker moved with his parents to the Duchess district of Alberta in March of 1916. He received his elementary schooling at Lisburn, Pennsylvania and in the Duchess public school. In Pennsylvania the family attended Sunday school and worship services at the Slate Hill Mennonite Church near Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania, and in Duchess they attended services of the Duchess Mennonite Church which met in the local school until the congregation built its own church in 1924. Marlin was baptized and received as a member of the Duchess Mennonite Church in May 1917.

After their marriage, Marlin and Anna Brubaker lived on the farm, which had been established by Marlin's father, near Duchess. He was chosen by lot and ordained as a deacon of the Duchess Mennonite Church on 23 October 1932. The ordination was for life, but Marlin Brubaker apparently withdrew from active service in his old age, and is not listed in the Mennonite Yearbook as an active deacon of the church after 1986. He died in 1993, at the age of 89.
