The Brantford Mennonite Church was envisioned by January 1984 when a small group began to meet for regular worship. The first public worship services began in 1984 on Sunday afternoons at the Y.W.C.A. in Brantford. Doris and Rod Weber served as the first pastors. In 1987 the group rented space at the Seventh Day Adventist church. Later Darrell and Florence Jantzi served as pastors from 1990-1994. Retired Minister Henry Yantzi and his wife, Mae, also provided some leadership during these years.

The small group never grew beyond 17 members, and some inter-personal conflicts hindered the effort. After the Jantzi's left in fall, 1994, the congregation decided to close. It had been affiliated with the Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada. The language of worship was English.
