Boer (De Boer), a Dutch Mennonite family, descending from Hans Baur (Bauer) and Anna Willener, Swiss Mennonites, who migrated in 1711 from Oberhofen, [[Bern (Switzerland)|Swiss canton of Bern]], to [[Hoogezand-Sappemeer (Groningen, Netherlands)|Sappemeer]], Dutch province of [[Groningen (Netherlands)|Groningen]]. Boer (De Boer), a Dutch Mennonite family, descending from Hans Baur (Bauer) and Anna Willener, Swiss Mennonites, who migrated in 1711 from Oberhofen, Swiss canton of Bern, to Sappemeer, Dutch province of Groningen. Here this family engaged in farming as they had in Switzerland. Their daughter Barbara married Peter Gerber, and their son Abraham married Trinette (Trijntje), daughter of the preacher Jacob Stähly.
