Attema is a Dutch Mennonite family, originally from [[Leeuwarden (Friesland, Netherlands)|Leeuwarden]], [[Friesland (Netherlands)|Friesland]]. E. Jurjen Attema, of Leeuwarden, was preacher of the Nijmegen congregation 1861-1881 and also a trustee of the Algemene Doopsgezinde Sociëteit, Doede Attema (Leeuwarden, 2 October 1880- Hilversum, 18 November 1954) was pastor of Zijldijk 1907-1909, Twisk-Abbekerk 1909-1912, IJmuiden 1912-1915, and Zaandam-West 1915-1946.
