Hans van Almonde was elder of the Mennonite congregation at [[Danzig (Poland)|Danzig]] from 14 March 1752 to 27 December 1758, the day of his death. He was born in Danzig in 1690, the son of Cornelius van Almonde, whose father presumably emigrated from Holland. The van Almonde family was in the 17th and 18th centuries one of the most respected among the Danzig Mennonites, but at the end of the 18th century they transferred to the Reformed Church.
