Dirk Pieters, also called Derk Pieters van Nierop, was in 1580 a preacher of the Frisian Mennonite congregation at Nieuwe Niedorp. He is said to have been of a peaceful disposition, trying to eliminate the schisms that had arisen among the Dutch Mennonites. He joined the Waterlanders and became a preacher at Amsterdam, where he died about 1604.
